history

In the middle of the nineteenth century, Malta was an important coaling station. The Grand Harbour offered safe haven to vessels of all nationalities, and in eighteen sixty, Salvatore Grima purchased the chandlery business from his employer. Salvo, as he was known, steered his business wisely, and sought to serve naval and merchant captains with equal care and efficiency. Founded in 1860 as a ship chandler, the enterprise diversified over the years into various other fields related to the maritime and commercial activities, whilst maintaining its leading position in ship supply.
