With relentless perseverance and dedication to his work, Clyde Micallef, the Group General Manager – Africa Operations, has been a stalwart witness to the company’s evolution over the years.
Beginning his journey as a Finance Executive in 1996, Clyde steadily ascended the career ladder, assuming different roles and actively contributing to various facets of the group.
Among Clyde’s notable achievements within the Group are his instrumental role in the rapid business development of Salvo Grima Rwanda, securing the Unilever contract, and pursuing his MBA amidst demanding schedules.
Outside of work, Clyde avidly follows his favorite football teams, namely Birkirkara, Wolves, and Roma. He serves as a shining example to his daughters, illustrating that it’s never too late to pursue and achieve one’s goals, enriching life’s journey.

1996: Clyde joined as a Finance Executive, witnessing the group’s growth, particularly with subsidiaries Medina Offshore Services, Salvo Grima Freeport Operations and Salvo Grima Duty Free.
2003: Promoted to Finance Manager as the Group expanded to new premises at 187 Pinto House, Marsa.
2004: Change in career path moving into Commercial Manager role within the Travel Retail & Distribution unit
2011: A versatile contributor, Clyde played a key role in establishing business in Mallorca, Spain, and launching the Salvo Grima Retail division.
2015: With the acquisition of Vladex, Clyde assumed the role of General Manager.
2020: Elevated to Group General Manager – Africa Operations, Clyde explored new territories like Djibouti and contributed immensely to the establishment of Salvo Grima Rwanda.
2023: Clyde proudly completes his MBA while the group continues to thrive.
