SENIOR ACCOUNTANT (ALGERIA) – Salvo Grima Group

We supply and operate several Travel Retail Duty-Free outlets at airports and cruise ports across the Mediterranean region, including airports in Algiers and Oran. Our product range includes skincare, tobaccos, liquors, and more.

Due to our growth, we are now seeking a Senior Accountant who will oversee daily accounting, key reconciliations, and month‑end close to ensure accurate records, strong controls, and conduct reliable reporting for the Group’s Algeria operations.

This is a hands‑on finance role requiring precise accounting, timely reconciliations, well‑maintained schedules, and complete reporting files for review by the Head of Finance. The position functions as the financial engine of the operation, not a basic bookkeeping role.

The duties include:

Maintain accurate accounting records, postings, and documentation
Perform bank, cash, and supplier reconciliations whilst investigating any discrepancies
Manage supplier accounts and support payment preparation
Prepare month-end schedules and support management reporting
Assist with stock accounting and inventory reconciliations
Support tax, audit, and intercompany reporting requirements
Ensure compliance with finance policies and controls
Identify issues and escalate discrepancies promptly

The ideal candidate would be:

Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance;
Strong accounting and reconciliation experience;
Experience with month-end close and reporting schedules;
Knowledge of suppliers, payroll, accruals, and inventory accounting;
High attention to detail and documentation discipline;
Strong Excel and financial systems skills (Business Central preferred);
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
Fluent in French, Arabic, and English.
