2,000 kilometres. Three countries. One incredible cause.
Salvo Grima Group is proud to celebrate the return of our colleague Alex Farrow, following his participation in the 2026 LifeCycle Challenge Malta – an extraordinary cycling journey across Rwanda, Kenya and Uganda in support of renal patients in Malta and Gozo.
Taking on approximately 2,000 kilometres across East Africa, Alex joined the LifeCycle team as they faced demanding distances, challenging terrain and the physical and mental endurance required to complete one of the organisation’s most ambitious challenges.
For Salvo Grima Group, this year’s challenge carried particular significance. The route took the cyclists through Rwanda, Kenya and Uganda – the three East African countries in which The Group operates, making it an opportunity not only to support an important cause, but also to bring together colleagues from across our international operations.
Throughout the journey, Salvo Grima Group teams on the ground supported Alex and the wider LifeCycle team with provisions and logistical assistance along the route, turning the initiative into a truly Group-wide effort stretching from Malta to East Africa.
The 2026 LifeCycle Challenge was undertaken in support of the LifeCycle Foundation and its work with renal patients in Malta and Gozo. Through its fundraising initiatives, the Foundation supports patient services, kidney research and equipment requested by the Renal Unit.
While crossing the finish line marked the end of an incredible physical challenge, the purpose behind the journey continues, with fundraising efforts carrying on beyond the cyclists’ return.
We are immensely proud of Alex for taking on this challenge and representing Salvo Grima Group throughout this remarkable journey. His determination and commitment to the cause embody the spirit of coming together to make a meaningful difference.
We would also like to thank our colleagues across Rwanda, Kenya and Uganda who supported the cyclists throughout their journey and helped make The Group’s involvement in the challenge possible.
