We are currently looking for a motivated and ambitious Commercial Executive – Travel Retail to join our growing team in Malta.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the selected candidate with initially focus on the liquors, perfumes & cosmetics business, while remaining agile to adapt with shifting commercial priorities across product categories.
This is a commercially driven role, combining strategic thinking, operational execution, and strong market engagement.
The duties include:
- Acting as a key contributor in driving profitable growth, maintaining strong relationships, and implementing tools that support commercial decision-making;
- Managing day-to-day commercial activities within the portfolio, including pricing, sales, supplier coordination, and customer engagement;
- Analysing sales performance, margins, and customer buying behaviour to support decisions that optimise commercial outcomes;
- Leading, alongside the Commercial Manager, the implementation and active use of a CRM system, embedding a data-led and customer-centric culture across the function;
- Supporting the wider bonded liquors, perfumes & cosmetics business as required, in line with evolving company needs;
- Proposing pricing strategies that are in line with the company’s objectives as well as market trends;
- Coordinate timely payment processing and manage logistics arrangements to ensure smooth transactions and customer satisfaction;
- Building and maintaining excellent relationships with customers and logistics partners, ensuring long-term value creation for all parties;
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders, including finance, logistics, and retail operations, to ensure seamless execution of the commercial strategy;
- Supporting new product introductions and market entry strategies, identifying trends and category gaps;
- Ensuring accurate and timely use of the Company’s ERP and CRM systems for transactional integrity and visibility;
- Preparing reporting and insights to support reviews, forecasting, and strategic planning;
- Contributing to the improvement of internal processes and the adoption of best commercial practices;
- Performing any additional tasks that may reasonably be required in line with the role.
The ideal candidate would be:
- A bachelor’s degree in a business-related field;
- Minimum of 3 years of commercial experience in a similar industry, specifically in the travel retail sector;
- Fluency in English is essential, proficiency other European language is an advantage;
- Analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proficiency in cross-functional collaboration;
- Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously within set deadlines;
- Proficiency in using modern business tools and software for analysis and reporting;
- Able to work under pressure to tight deadlines;
- Ability to travel from time to time as needed within the role.
