We are currently seeking a Head of Finance to oversee the finance function of the Group’s Algeria operations. The selected candidate will ensure strong financial control, reliable reporting, cash discipline, banking relationships, tax compliance, audit readiness and effective support to the Country GM and Head Quarters.
The role is not limited to accounting supervision. It is responsible for building a controlled, reliable and disciplined finance function.
The duties include:
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s business goals.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to the executive team for decision-making.
- Prepare and monitor annual budgets, forecasts, and financial performance reports.
- Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements.
- Monitor cash flow, optimize working capital, and oversee treasury operations.
- Ensure compliance with Algerian tax laws, import/export regulations, and international financial standards.
- Manage external audits and liaise with tax authorities and regulatory bodies
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, including currency fluctuations and trade-related risks
- Collaborate with the operations team to monitor stock levels and manage inventory costs.
- Analyze cost structures to improve profitability and efficiency.
- Oversee pricing strategies to maintain competitiveness while maximizing margins.
- Lead and mentor the finance team to ensure high performance and professional development.
- Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement within the finance department.
- Coordinate with internal departments to align financial goals with overall business objectives
- Maintain relationships with banks, suppliers, and other external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate would be:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance is required. A Master’s Degree level would be preferred.
- Minimum of 8–10 years in financial management roles
- Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Strong knowledge of Algerian financial and tax regulations.
- Leadership and team management.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Fluency in French, Arabic and English.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Strategic mindset with a focus on long-term growth.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
